Long Beach Unified School District music teacher Valerie Vinnard recently published an article in Delta Kappa Gamma Society International’s Collegial Exchange Magazine. The article, “Music Education and its Crucial Role in Closing the Achievement Gap,” highlights the importance and benefits of music education for all students in grades pre-K to 12. Vinnard has taught K-5 general music in 菠菜网lol正规平台 schools since 1999. In 2019, she earned a state award from the California Music Educators Association. Click here to read the full article.
菠菜网lol正规平台 Physical Education curriculum leader Lisa Ulmer has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Frank Vessels, Jr. Award from the Long Beach Century Club. The award is presented for long-term support of athletics within the District. Ulmer will be recognized at an upcoming award ceremony in January.
